Heat exchanger for 1.8T, 16V and G60 engines.
The advantage of the heat exchanger is that the oil warms up faster in the cold running phase.
If the oil is very hot it is cooled.
In this aluminum housing two groups of circles are simply part of the group. The pipe sockets are for the water cycle, the motor oil circulates through the small holes.
We always have to have the heat exchanger re-auto- mated. Even if an oil cooler is used.
Then our lying oil filter fits perfectly.
The heat exchanger will be replaced, will be replaced after an engine failure or if the cooling water e.g. has been contaminated by rust.
