If you want to make your VAG 4-cylinder engine durable for a upgrade, it is important to reinforce the engine. For the 4-cylinder VAG engines such as in the 1.8T, G60, 1.8L - 2.0L 16V engines and 2.0 TFSI EA113 we also recommend reinforcing the main bearing blocks to cope with the extreme loads.
We have developed reinforced bearing blocks especially for engines with high torque in order to provide a stable base for the engine structure. Our main bearing blocks also support the longevity of your engine during engine overhauls.
Our BAR-TEK main bearing blocks are made of high-strength alloyed billet steel and thus ensure the necessary bearing durability and reliability during tuning.
These bearing blocks are extremely stable, but require professional machining for a perfect fit. The bearing race of the crankshaft must be re-drilled and honed to ensure the new dimension of 2.3228" to 2.3236". Professional installation is therefore essential to prevent damage to the engine.
