Above a certain engine output, the low-pressure pump must be replaced with a more powerful one, such as e. g. Walbro, DW, Bosch, Aeromotive or our BAR-TEK® pumps. Each of these upgrade pumps has a higher current consumption, which can push the original output stage to its limits. Failures can occur, especially in warm outside temperatures.

The original power amplifier has a maximum working current of 17 amps, while the Walbro can "draw" up to 25 amps. This means that with the original power amplifier, the full power of the Walbro cannot be utilised at all and this can lead to misfiring and even complete failure of the intank pump. Then only the ADAC can help ;-)
