Lightweight Flywheels for Audi – Ideal for Car Racing
The flywheel in your Audi balances rotational irregularities, which are dependent on the number of cylinders. The engine runs more quietly with a higher number of cylinders since there are less rotational irregularities. The flywheel is located at the end of the crankshaft and serves as centrifugal mass. It stores the kinetic energy from the movement of the crankshaft. Due to its mass inertia, it can continue to rotate when the engine does not supply any power at dead points or idle cycles. The flywheel also compensates for fluctuations in the speeds. In our shop, you can buy especially lightweight flywheels for Audi, which are perfectly matched to the tuning. We have flywheels for various models and engines: A4, RS2, RS4, S2.
More Lightweight Flywheels in the Audi
Owing to the low weight of our flywheels, the engine needs less energy when accelerating and achieves high speeds more quickly. Since you reach the respective speed more quickly, you can also shift gears far faster. The fuel consumption of your Audi can also be reduced with flywheels that are more lightweight since the car does not have to supply as much towing power. The flywheel should always be finely balanced.
Flywheels for the Road and Competition
In our shop, you get only extremely high-quality flywheels, developed for different requirements. The Audi A4 1.8T steel flywheel is ideally suited for racing. It weighs no more than 7.6 kg and is thus much far more lightweight than the standard dual-mass flywheel (11 kg). This makes the engine characteristics more aggressive, which is also true for the 2.0L TFSI aluminum flywheel. This flywheel is made of high-strength aluminum; the steel ring for the clutch surface is riveted.
Single-Mass Flywheels and Dual-Mass Flywheels
In a dual-mass flywheel, the centrifugal mass is divided into a primary and a secondary mass. This increases the mass inertia torque. Torque peaks are reduced, which protects the gearbox. The noise is reduced in comparison to the single-mass flywheel. The single-mass flywheel is significantly lighter than the dual-mass flywheel. With it, you reach far higher speeds than with the standard dual-mass flywheel, so it is frequently used in car racing.
