Adjustable Camshaft Gears – Perfect for Engine Tuning
Adjustable camshaft gears are the perfect combination for sports camshafts in engine tuning. Since high-lift cams have different control times due to a modified contour, adjustable camshaft gears are needed for this. While the adjustment of a conventional camshaft gear only permits rigid control times, the optimum control time of a sports camshaft is exactly in between. This value can be easily reached with an adjustable camshaft gear. In our shop, you get matching gears for many engines, e.g. 1.8T, 2.0L TFSI, Audi 5-cylinder, G40, G60, 16V.
Camshaft Gears and Control Times
All components of your engine must be perfectly matched to one another so your engine can run neat and smooth. Especially for performance enhancement, when the engine must be able to withstand high stresses. Therefore the control times of the crankshaft, camshaft and distributor must be set optimally. If these control times are set incorrectly, the operability of the engine is severely restricted. Major engine damage occurs frequently, e.g. when the pistons and valves get in each other’s way. With an optimal setting, you can boost the performance of your engine considerably!
Adjustable Camshaft Gears and Matching Camshafts
Our adjustable camshaft gears are perfect for high-lift sports camshafts. They come as two-part or three-part gears and can be optimally adjusted to the respective control time of the camshaft. This way, you don’t give away performance any longer as is the case with standard gears.
The perfect combination for our custom-made 2.0L TFSI camshafts is the matching high-end camshaft gear for 2.0 TFSI engines. It is CNC-machined, black anodized for the OEM look and is installed with ARP bolts. For mounting, you can also choose an ARP bolt. With this camshaft gear, the control times of your 2.0L TFSI engine can be adjusted perfectly. On our test bench, we achieved a massive extra performance of 35 hp! Our red adjustable camshaft gear for G60 engines is another real eye-catcher. With its exterior steel ring, it is especially stable and withstands the high loads in car racing without difficulty.
