Camshafts – Get more out of your engine with sport camshafts
If you want to up your tune engine’s performance, you need sport camshafts. They open the inlet and outlet valves wider and longer, giving you better cylinder filling at high speeds. When it comes to road tuning, however, it is important for the idling speed to remain steady and the exhaust quality to meet TÜV requirements. For top engine performance and a fully professional tuning result, you can buy “aggressive” camshafts (sport camshafts) in our online shop and bring your engine tuning to the next level.
Outstanding performance: our camshaft manufacturers
Schrick camshafts
Precision and top-notch quality – that’s what makes sport camshafts from Schrick stand apart. One of the most experienced manufacturers on the market, Schrick makes camshafts not only for professional road tuning but also top-class racing teams. In our shop, you will find Schrick camshafts for different engines as well as sport valve spring sets, bucket tappet sets and degree wheels for precise adjustment of valve timing. When installing a sport camshaft, we strongly recommend that you retrofit sport valve springs. This enhances the engine’s responsiveness, makes the valve train more robust and thus prevents spring fracture. What’s more, be sure to bear in mind that Schrick only offers a warranty if you install new hydraulic tappets with the new camshaft. This way, the engine revs really quickly, because the valve train runs even more smoothly.
Sport camshafts from dbilas dynamic and Cat Cams
In our tuning shop you will also find sport camshafts from other manufacturers, like dbilas dynamic and of course our very own BAR-TEK® sport camshafts. The camshaft manufacturer dbilas dynamic boasts premium-quality products you can count on and draws on many years of experience in producing and developing tuning parts.
Our in-house BAR-TEK® tuning camshafts are also made of top-notch materials and are designed to meet the most exacting of standards. This means more power and torque are in their DNA. Because the right camshaft makes all the difference in tuning!
The benchmark for the valve stroke
The benchmark for valve stroke in the top dead centre differs based on how many valves your engine has and whether it has hydraulic compensation or not. The value is between 1.1 and 2.3 millimetres:
- 2-valve engines with valve clearance: 2.3 mm
- 4-valve engines with valve clearance: 1.5 mm
- 2-valve engines with hydraulic compensation: 1.9 mm
- 4-valve engines with hydraulic compensation: 1.1 mm
