Cylinder-head gaskets

Cylinder-head gaskets

The cylinder-head gasket – in short: head gasket – is an important part of tuning. It is installed between the crankcase and the cylinder head and seals the combustion chamber as well as the coolant and engine passageways. It also has the task of ensuring the power transmission between the components. This is why the cylinder-head gasket has a considerable influence on the power distribution.

In our online shop, we also carry cylinder-head gaskets such as those used in car racing. This guarantees even better thermal conductivity and pressure stability!

High loads on the head gasket

The head gasket must withstand extreme thermal and mechanical loads. Our gaskets consist of several layers of metal that lower compression optimally. You can drive a higher boost without your engine beginning to knock.

What are the consequences of a defective cylinder-head gasket?

Broken cylinder-head gaskets can cause severe engine damage. If, for example, combustion gases get into the coolant chamber, cooling no longer works properly, and there is a risk of overheating. If engine oil gets into the coolant, deposits can clog the coolant passageways. Vice versa, a damaged head gasket can also lead to severe problems. If coolant gets into the oil circulation, the oil can no longer lubricate properly, and damage to the bearings is the result. A hydraulic shock is also possible when a lot of coolant flows into the combustion chamber. For this reason, the installation of a high-quality cylinder-head gasket is certainly worthwhile.
