Upgrade Intercoolers for the ideal intake air temperature
In engine tuning, cooling is an important element for boosting performance. Extreme performance increases are always accompanied by more heat in the engine compartment. The intercooler upgrade ensures that the compressed air from the turbocharger arrives at the engine cooled down. In addition to an increase in performance you can feel, you also achieve a longer service life for your engine. Upgrade Intercooler in tuning
The upgrade intercooler ensures that the temperature of the supplied combustion air is not too high. Cooler air has greater air mass than the same volume of warmer air, meaning your engine gets more oxygen. This means that the engine can burn proportionally more fuel. The result is optimum engine efficiency. A general rule in tuning: the more performance you strive for, the bigger the intercooler should be. This is because the extreme heat is generated with extreme performance (the charge air can reach up to 200 °C). Water-cooled and air-cooled intercoolers
The charge air can be cooled via two different systems: there are air-cooled and water-cooled intercoolers. The air-air system cools the charge air with air. The intercooler is at the front and is mounted between the turbocharger and engine. While the charge air flows through the intercooler ducts, it is cooled by the airflow. Water-cooled intercoolers consist of a water cooler, a circulating pump and a very compact intercooler. Here, the airflow cools the water in the water cooler, which cools the charge air in the intercooler. This system is especially suitable if you have little space. But it also boasts the advantage that the paths are very short, and you achieve a significantly improved engine response. Here, the power output is about 10% greater than with the air-cooled method.
