What coating do JE pistons have?

What is a baffle? What is it good for?
The baffle prevents the oil from sloshing and thus prevents foam formation.

Do I have to have the parts registered with the TÜV (German Technical Inspection Agency)?
Yes, any structural modification must be
approved by a test center. Otherwise your operating license will expire. We
already offer many items with a TÜV certificate, so you can drive in traffic
with confidence. It's best to talk to the TÜV inspector about your project
beforehand and have it approved.

Do connecting rods have an installation direction?
Yes, the "nose" always points towards the intake port.

You can get the nuts individually from us. The washer is always included.

Can I install the parts myself or have them installed by a partner?
Many items can be easily installed even without a master craftsman's title. If it should become nevertheless times somewhat more extensive, do not hesitate to ask us. However, we recommend that any conversion work should only be carried out by trained personnel.

The delivery date says "Has been reordered".
"Has been reordered" means that we have ordered the item from the manufacturer. Unfortunately, we do not have a delivery date yet.

As a rule, the manufacturers deliver within the time window that we specified for the item.
Unfortunately, it happens that manufacturers themselves have delivery problems so that we do not get the articles on time. It is sometimes difficult, especially now with the coronavirus.
We do our best and try to send you your order as soon as possible.
What are the dimensions of DASH connections?
In the table below we give the thread dimensions and the corresponding inner tube diameters. Small tolerances are possible with the hoses. We recommend -4 AN with 6mm hose for oil supply lines and at least -10AN with 16mm hose inner diameter for return lines.
Are the connecting rods angled?
Yes, our BAR-TEK® connecting rods are all angled.

I want to install new pistons. How do I have to drill my block?
Your block must always be drilled to the size of the pistons. That means if you have pistons with 82.00 mm, your block must also be drilled to 82.00 mm. The corresponding play is already factored into the piston.

The best is to give the new pistons to your engine builder before he starts to machine the block.

Which oil can I run with my car?
In principle, you can drive all of them. However, you should look at what the manufacturers recommend.

In the car manual of your vehicle, you will find precise information about which specification the oil should have, for example, 5W or 10W.
On the oil can, you will also find information on whether the oil is approved by the manufacturer. For example, it says VW 504 00, which is the latest standard for VAG gasoline engines.
