This girdle plate prevents excessive torsion of the crankshaft drive.
Particularly in highly tuned engines such as e. g. with the turbo, the crankshaft tends to twist too much, which can affect the entire engine and cause serious damage to the bearings and piston and even break the crankshaft or conrods!
The girdle plate not only ensures maximum stability, but also acts as an oil separator.
Please do NOT use threadlocker when fitting.
Please select a version with 12.9 mm screws or ARP stud bolt.
Suitable for all VW and Audi blocks of the 827 generation such as:
Audi 80
Audi 100
Audi A4 and A6
Audi Coupe
VW Corrado and Caddy
VW Golf 3 and 4
VW Passat, Polo Lupo Sharan and Vento
Seat Cordoba, Ibiza II and Toledo
(For 2L crankshafts, the block plate must be reworked.)
The standard kit includes:
- girdle plate
-spacer sleeves for the girdle plate
-ARP stud bolt set or 12.9 screws
-longer screws for the oil pan
-installation instructions
The Ulimate kit includes:
- girdle plate
-ARP stud bolt set or 12.9-piece screws
-longer screws for the oil pan
-installation instructions
-billet main bearing blocks made of high-strength steel
With the Ultimate Kit, the bearing race of the crankshaft must be re-drilled and honed.
