The Dodson R8 & Huracan DL800 reinforced differential cover is designed to minimize excessive case deflection. During high horsepower, high torque starts, such high forces are developed that the warping case can cause damage to internal transmission parts. When the housing bends, it can cause misalignment of such things as the ring gear and pinions, resulting, in the worst case, in capital gear damage.
