The BMW S55B30 3.0L turbo engine is equipped with a water/air charge air cooling system. The charge air is cooled by a water-cooled intercooler. The water in turn through this heat exchanger in the front.
A reduction of the cooling water temperature is accordingly also directly equivalent to an improved cooling performance of the charge air. This is exactly where our upgrade water cooler comes into play. The high-performance network increases the cooler volume by approx. 85%. The ratio between inner and outer cooling surface ensures maximum heat transfer and still allows the engine water cooler behind it enough air for its heat exchange. With the increased amount of cooling water in the circuit, the overall engine thermals are lowered to a lower level, especially on performance engines. Our upgrade intercooler fits plug & play. With CNC machined quick connectors, and CNC-milled brackets and fittings, the heat exchanger is a direct replacement for the original radiator. It connects directly to all the original hoses and there is no need to modify any grilles or covers. In addition, our water cooler features an anti-corrosion coating with heat conduction properties, rather than a simple powder coat.
