The 8-channel K-type exhaust temperature CAN module from AEM offers a remarkable measurement accuracy of less than 1%. This module allows you to integrate up to eight K-type thermocouple sensors into your vehicle and transmit the temperature data from all 8 channels to a CD Carbon Digital Dash or a third-party programmable CAN device.
It supports the simultaneous connection of up to eight K-type thermocouple sensors that can detect and monitor a variety of temperatures such as exhaust gas temperatures (EGTs), cylinder head temperatures, intercooler temperatures, air temperatures, water temperatures, fluid temperatures, disc brake temperatures and more.
In addition, the module can be linked to a second module. With an integrated cold junction sensor, the CAN module from AEM ensures high measurement accuracy over the entire temperature range from -200 to 1372 °C / -328 to 2501 °F. It also sends error codes in the event of sensor failure to enable timely maintenance. The CAN bus is configurable and offers a choice of parameters such as speed (250k, 500k and 1M), header length (11- or 29-bit) and base address, allowing easy integration of two units on the same bus.
Power is supplied via a 4-pin DTM connector when the module is connected to a CD-5 Carbon or CD-7 Digital Dash Display. An optional 4-pin DTM connector kit facilitates connection to non-AEM devices. AEMnet CAN bus extension cables are available separately in various lengths.
